About
I am a multidisciplinary artist from London, England with a BA in Photography and a MArch in Design for Performance and Interaction. I use code and other technologies to create art which explores generativity, group experience, and interaction.
Central to my practice is consideration of my audience, and I find no greater joy in life than creating things that other people enjoy.
Generative Art
Generative art is created using autonomous processes, randomness, rules and natural systems.
The rule-based nature of algorithms led me to consider the rule-based nature of the universe. As complexity emerges in nature from simple rules, I question whether anything exists outside of a ruleset, or if all behaviour can be considered an algorithm.
In a universe without meaning, we constantly strive to find it. This search is something I find absurd, liberating and joyful. While a computer has no innate sense of what a human might consider meaningful, it possible to create algorithms that create art that seems imbued with meaning.
This article contains more of my thoughts on generative art.
