SHARED BODIES
In this project, two people’s movements are tracked and combined to generate graphics on a screen.
I experimented with several ways of combining their motion.
In the first two examples, their bodies are represented on the screen individually and then a central figure also appears, which is a direct averaging of the two participants.
In the next example, selected points on each participant are connected to create one abstract shape.
In the game, each participant shares control of the game piece but they have different goals to reach.
In the last example, they control a double pendulum, one participant taking control of the inner pendulum and one the outer – to combine their motion in an unusual way.
These experiments led to strange and interesting movements and unusual collaborations from the participants.
